South Jordan's new Animal Shelter will be able to handle 22 dogs in the main holding area with 4 additional kennels in the dog Quarantine area. We have 22 cat holding kennels in the main cat room and 9 cat holding kennels for sick and wild cats in the quarantine area.
There are three outdoor Chain link corrals for livestock holding that can house up to three horses in each corral comfortably.
The building is 4800 Square Feet with a get "acquainted room which is for people to meet the animals they would like to adopt. Also, an exotic room for birds, snakes, rabbits, etc.
The building has a heated floor in the main dog kennel area and a food prep room with a dishwasher, garbage disposal and a refrigerator for medication. New to animal services is a wash room to bathe animals, which is also equipped with a washer and dryer to clean bedding and towels. The Animal Services division is excited about this new facility and looks forward to serving the citizens and animals of South Jordan City.
