Current elected officials include:

Mayor W. Kent Money Mayor William Kent Money has served South Jordan City as Mayor since 2002, he began his second term January 2006. He and his wife Vicki have lived in South Jordan for 22 years where they have raised 4 children. Kent has worked for Zions Securities for the past 26 years and serves as its president and CEO for the last 20. Kent is grateful to serve the South Jordan residents as their Mayor and looks forward to all the possibilities provided by positive growth.

Council Member Leona Winger (District 1) Leona has been a resident of South Jordan for 14 years. She has a dedicated a life of service which is manifest by her current position as a member of the city council which she has served since 2004.

Council Member Kathie L. Johnson (District 2) Kathie has lived in South Jordan since 1990. She and her husband Dan have three children. Kathie has a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University. She has been a Certified Residential Appraiser since 1994, and is the owner of Access Appraisals. Kathie served on the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce Board from 2000 to 2003 and was a founding member of the South Jordan Chamber of Commerce in 2003. She has served on the South Jordan Planning Commission and the Architectural Review Committee from 2001 to 2007, and was the Chair of the South Jordan Planning Commission from 2006-2007.

Council Member Brian Butters (District 3) Brian has been a resident of South Jordan for 21 Years. He is a licensed Escrow Officer at a title company and has been in the title and real estate business for over 30 years. He has enjoyed living and raising his family in South Jordan, this is why he has become involved in city government. He is married to Shauna for 37 years and they have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Brian is grateful to serve the residents as a council member.

Council Member Aleta Taylor (District 4) Aleta and her husband Sherm are the parents of seven great young adults. They purchased property in South Jordan almost eighteen years ago. While living in South Jordan, Aleta has served on the History Committee and volunteered throughout the community, and most recently was a member of the Board of Adjustments. She has worked as an office manager for a variety of businesses including a commercial building company, a real estate firm, a dentist, a chiropractor, and a mental health institution.

Council Member Larry Short (District 5) Larry and his wife Jackie moved to South Jordan 6 years ago. Larry and Jackie have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Larry works for a health care staffing company as a recruiter. Larry joined the City Council in January of 2006 due to his desire to make a difference in the community and serve the citizens while assuring that the city grows in the right direction. Larry would like to thank all South Jordan residents for their support.
