Georgia Mouritsen

Georgia Mouritsen studied oil painting from a well-known local landscape artist, Dorothy Hurst. Georgia began painting after the birth of her fifth child. She studied art at the Salt Lake Community College and attended several workshops, art demonstrations, and evening classes. During a year in Taiwan while her husband was an exchange professor, she was able to study Chinese watercolor painting from two prominent Chinese artists, Li Chi Mao and Shu I Fei. Upon her return to the U.S., her focus became portraits and buildings. She concentrated on painting portraits of her husband, six children, and fourteen grandchildren. She has also done many commissioned paintings
