fire-chiefmessage from the chief

Welcome to the South Jordan City Fire Department. The South Jordan City Fire Department prides itself on being an active member in the community and this webpage is one way for us to reach a wider audience than through traditional methods.

The South Jordan Fire Department was formed in 1977 and has seen many changes in both size and service delivery over the last 39 years. Today, South Jordan operates a full-time, all-hazards fire department capable of responding to a wide range of emergency incidents including: structure fires, advanced life support emergency medical calls, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescue incidents including high angle rope rescue, trench rescue, confined space rescue, swift and open water rescue, and structural collapse incidents.

The department prides itself on being a leader in the emergency cardiac care field of medicine and has several programs in place to address the problems of STEMI heart attacks and sudden cardiac arrest. Our programs are some of the best in the country.

We continue to strengthen our fire prevention programs to ensure fires are prevented before they start. Through our community education program, we teach school age children the dangers of fire and how to prevent fire. We also teach ways to escape from a burning house or what to do if your clothes catch fire.

I am honored to serve alongside the dedicated and professional men and women of the South Jordan Fire Department. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have about the fire department or stop in for a quick visit at one of our stations.
