Get Involved – South Jordan

Get Involved

There are numerous opportunities to volunteer with the City of South Jordan. The City encourages individual, small and larger group volunteer projects throughout the year. Scout projects and especially Eagle projects must be pre-approved before a scout may begin volunteering. The majority of volunteer opportunities occur during the warmer months. However, some cold weather projects may also be available depending on need. Please come to us with volunteering ideas, the City is not required to provide volunteering project ideas.

Volunteers may be required to submit a BCI before volunteering can begin.

Contact:  The Info Center to be routed to the correct department associated with your volunteering project idea.

Appointed volunteer opportunities

There are also appointed volunteers who serve on a variety of committees and boards. These volunteers are appointed by the Mayor and City Council. For example, the Historic Preservation Committee, Arts Council, Planning Commission, Youth Council Advisers, and Senior Advisory Committee are comprised of appointed volunteers who have an interest in working with these respective areas of the City.

South Jordan University

South Jordan University is a unique, award-winning, civic education program designed to give participants a comprehensive, “small” classroom-style, overview of South Jordan City government.

This 8-week course exposes participants to current city operations and future planning. Classes provide opportunities to meet with elected officials and city administrators to talk about the issues that are the most important to you.

South Jordan University also includes “A Taste of South Jordan” where participants sample meals from South Jordan businesses to savor the foods your community has to offer. Register here to participate.
