South Jordan Animal Control Shelter (10882 South Park Road; 1850 West)
The annual rabies clinic is open to the general public while dog licensing is limited to South Jordan residents only. As a reminder under South Jordan City ordinance 6.12.020, dogs are required to be current on rabies vaccinations and under South Jordan City ordinance 6.12.010, dogs over 4-months of age are required to be licensed. Please call our Animal Control Officers at 801-254-4708 during business hours to find out more information.
*All animals must be leashed or otherwise controlled in a pet carrier when coming to this event.*
Our South Jordan Animal Control Officers are available to help you weekdays from 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM Monday-Thursday and until 4:00 PM on Fridays by calling 801-254-4708 to schedule an appointment. For emergency animal related calls outside these hours, please call police dispatch at 801-840-4000. (These would include: injured and bleeding animals, animals attacking person or livestock or loose livestock. Found animals will be collected the next business day.)
South Jordan's Animal Shelter is be able to handle 22 dogs in the main holding area with 4 additional kennels in the dog quarantine area. We have 22 cat holding kennels in the main cat room and 9 cat holding kennels for sick and wild cats in the quarantine area.
There are three outdoor corrals for livestock holding that can house up to three horses in each corral comfortably.
The building is 4800 Square Feet with a get "acquainted room", designed for people to meet the animals they would like to adopt.
Our facility has the following amenities:
- Heated floor in main dog kennel area
- Food prep area with dishwasher, garbage disposal and refrigerator (for medications)
- Wash room
- Laundry (to clean pet bedding)
We are always in need of donations of pet food (wet and dry), cleaning supplies, kitty litter, pet carriers, pet toys, or any related pet item. Please call one of our Animal Control Officers at 801-254-4708 (during business hours) to arrange donations.
