The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of updating the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for South Jordan City, along Midas Creek and Bingham Creek.  FEMA has developed a revised floodplain in these areas and the revised maps may impact your property if it is located near one of these two channels.

To view the changes electronically, the preliminary map data has been placed on FEMA’s Map Change Viewer: https://fema.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=e7a7dc3ebd7f4ad39bb8e485bb64ce44.

If you have any questions please contact Jared Francis, Senior Engineer, South Jordan City (801-254-3742). For further National Flood Insurance information please visit https://www.floodsmart.gov/.

A Public Open House will be held on September 17, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Churchill Jr High School, 3450 E. Oakview Dr., Millcreek, Utah. During this meeting the revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) will be available for review and those  attending will have an opportunity to provide comments and ask questions about the impacts the new maps will have on their property.
