For information purposes our snow removal process is as follows in order of priority;
Priority 1- We start snow removal on all main streets after 1 inch of snow has accumulated on the roads.
Priority 2- Within 48 hrs of the end of the storm we will start removing snow from all residential streets and School ADA Routes.
Priority 3- Within 72 hrs after the end of the storm we will start removing snow from cul-de-sacs and alley ways.
If another snow event occurs with in this time frame we will start over on priority 1 roads and repeat the process. These priority levels are based on the higher speeds and traffic counts for the roads. Please also be advised that Redwood Rd, Bangerter HWY, 11400 south and 10400 south from I-15 to Bangerter HWY are maintained by UDOT. Their phone number is 801-975-4986.
Priority 1 - Collector Streets, Hills, and Disabled Occupants
Collector streets and hills are the first to be cleared and kept clear during a snowstorm. Roads are plowed from the center line to the outside edge of the driving lanes (shoulder will not be cleared). Salt is put down on intersections, hills, and driving lanes. Minimum coverage is maintained between 11:00 pm and 4:00 am

South Jordan City also receives a list of children with disabilities each year from the Jordan School District. Cul-de-sacs and streets for these families are also Priority 1.
Priority 2 - Through Subdivisions
Through subdivisions consist of subdivision roads that connect back to a collector street (do not become a dead end). Stopping to turn around is not only unsafe but greatly slows the progress and efficiency of plows, therefore Priority 2 are roads that allow them to continue moving forward.
Priority 3 - Cul-de-sacs and other Subdivisions
South Jordan City has more that 520 cul-de-sacs. Each will receive 1 pass in and 1 pass out as long as there are no cars parked on the street. Subdivision streets without an outlet are also Priority 3. Depending on the nature of the storm, it may take a day or two to reach every street and cul-de-sac, so please be patient.
