SOUTH JORDAN ARTS COUNCIL

The South Jordan Arts Council consist of residents appointed by the South Jordan City Council. This council provides support and assistance in the implementation of Arts programs and events to create a life-long appreciation for the arts for the residents of the City of South Jordan. They strive to achieve their mission by providing opportunities for individuals and families to experience the Arts through education, participation, public works of art, and performance. If you are interested in joining the South Jordan Arts Council, you can download an application here.

Resident on Display

In a rotating spotlight, South Jordan’s own artists are on display for several weeks at the Gale Center and City Hall. Features include medias as oil, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, photography, and woodcarving/burning. At this time, the Arts Council is also looking for local artists under 18 years old to display their artwork at the South Jordan County Library, as an extension to Resident on Display Program. If you would like to be featured as a Resident on Display, please contact Katie at klindquist@sjc.utah.gov

View art at the Gale Center: Tuesday – Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
View art at City Hall: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

GRANTS

The South Jordan Arts Council is committed to supporting the Arts by helping to fund Arts organizations. The intent of this funding program is to encourage artistic development and excellence at the local level. Arts Council funding is administered through the City Council and City Staff. Interested organizations can fill out and submit an application during Round A and/or Round B. Grants are awarded based on available funds. Please review the Grant Application Guidelines for more information.

 

ROUND IT UP PROGRAM

South Jordan Utility Customers can elect to have their Utility Bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and the increment will be donated towards funding the Arts in South Jordan City. Your involvement in the Arts benefits everyone in the community. The Round It Up program puts your change to work helping to fund the different programs and events in our community. Watch for this opportunity coming this winter.
