  2. Why you need one for your project.
    1. As required for obtaining a UPDES permit.
  3. Suggestions on how to put one together.
    1. A storm water pollution plan consists of using measures to control erosion on a project site. These measures are put in place to protect pollution from entering the storm drain system and getting into local water sites. The EPA recommends that the measure include the "Best Management Practice" or "BMP" to control the particular pollution that could be caused on a project site. These management practices are often times put together by an engineer experienced in know what the best "practice" is for the given situation. This is compiled into a document and submitted as the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Before a UPDES permit can be issued it is important that considerations have already been given and documented to control pollution from entering into the storm drain system.
