Pumpkin Promenade @ Heritage Park

South Jordan City is excited to announce an all-new fall event that is sure to get your little ghosts and ghouls ready to carve. Our Pumpkin Promenade on October 25 & 26 will feature The Nightmare Before Christmas playing in the park on Friday Night and Hocus Pocus playing Saturday night. You’ll be able to enjoy free hot cocoa and donuts while you walk through the spectacularly spooky carved and painted pumpkins entered in our pumpkin carving contest and other decorations.

If you would like to enter the pumpkin carving/decorating contest you can pick up a pumpkin (for free) on a first come, first serve basis. You can also purchase a pumpkin (or pumpkins) of your own to enter. Here are the details on entering the contest:

  1. Pick up your pumpkin at the Gale Center Museum October 21-24.
  2. Decide on your design – No purchased templates!
  3. Drop off your pumpkin at Heritage Park on Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. so it can be judged.
  4. Attend the Pumpkin Promenade event with your family.
  5. Enjoy FREE hot cocoa, donuts, and win prizes!

Pumpkin carving/decorating contest will be awarded prizes in the following categories:  

  • Most creative
  • Kids 10 and under
  • Group design (a cohesive design including 3-10 pumpkins)
  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.)

Prizes include gift cards up to $100 and haunted house passes. All designs must be family friendly in design and execution. Contact Natalie Domino with questions about the contest or the event. We hope to see you there!

Join us as we transform our regularly scheduled open plunge into a family friendly Halloween bash! The pool water will be dyed a spooky purple hue and floating pumpkins will be ripe for the picking.

Non-Members: Child/Senior $3, Adults $5
*Limit one pumpkin per person, while supplies last. All regular facility rules apply.

The Sock Puppets – Free Improv Comedy Show @ Gale Center of History and Culture

South Jordan Utah’s own improv group, The Sock Puppets. Usually hilarious, never any actual sock puppets.

Join The Sock Puppets for two FREE shows on October 26 and December 7 at 9:00 pm at the Gale Center (10300 S. Beckstead Lane).

Solving your dilemma of being born in the wrong century with the dancing of classic eras past!

1st Wednesday of every month from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm. South Jordan Community Center, 10778 S. Redwood Rd. 84095

**Date exceptions – October 16 and January 8**

Classes are FREE and open to the public!

What do I wear? No special clothes are needed for the classes. Just wear your modern casual clothes and some comfortable flat shoes.

What? You do not need to have any previous dance experience. If you can walk, count and turn about, you can vintage dance. Vintage dances are group dances, so you aren’t left alone on the dance floor. Kimberli teaches each dance before the music is played and prompts your steps while you are dancing to the music.

Who? Anyone 14 and older, unless previous permission has been granted for younger people. You don’t need to bring a partner, although it is more enjoyable if you do.

Candy Windows @ South Jordan City Hall

Make Candy Windows a holiday tradition! Join South Jordan City at the Light the Night tree lighting celebration on December 6th to kick off the most wonderful time of year! Take a stroll down Towne Center Drive and enjoy the incredible Candy Window displays. The Candy Window exhibits will be displayed in storefront windows on December 2nd – December 31st.

2019 Gingerbread House Contest @ South Jordan City Hall

Test your baking and decorating skills in South Jordan’s annual Gingerbread House Contest! Gingerbread House submissions are due on Monday, December 2 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at South Jordan City Hall. The Gingerbread Houses will be on display in City Hall from December 3 – December 12. Prizes will be awarded at Light the Night on December 6, 2019.

We can’t wait to see what you bake up!
