When Disaster Strikes, How Will You Get Updates?

Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC) has instituted a regional Emergency Notification System (ENS) for citizens of Salt Lake County. This system is often referred to as Reverse 911. The ENS has the means to send telephone, SMS text, and email notifications regarding emergency situations or critical public safety information to residents and businesses within Salt Lake County. The ENS automatically includes landlines into their database but, telephone numbers provided by a cable network provider, VoIP provider or cell phone provider must register those numbers with the ENS.

Why should I register my number?
By registering your number with this system, it allows you to start receiving critical information during or immediately after an emergency situation or critical public safety event. This information could save your life.

How do I register my number?
Step 1: Visit www.vecc9-1-1.com/voip-registration/
Step 2: Read and agree to the terms & conditions.
Step 3: Fill in the needed information.

  • Do not use punctuation in the street fields.
  • Primary phone is required and can be a cell or VoIP phone.
  • Click “Yes” under the phone number section if text messages are desired.
  • Do not put any dashes/parenthesis in your phone number.

Step 4: Verify the red pin is located at the address you entered.
Step 5: Create a username & password.
Step 6: Check for a verification email.
