SOUTH JORDAN, UT – July, 7, 2022 – One of the two 9-year-old juveniles injured in an accident yesterday has passed away. The second juvenile is in stable, but serious condition.

“We are heartbroken to learn that a child in our community has passed away today,” said South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey. “I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families impacted by this loss and truly tragic accident.”

The South Jordan Police Department was dispatched on the afternoon of July 6, 2022 to an accident involving two 9-year-old juveniles on an electric motor bike and a single vehicle. The accident occurred in the area of 2100 West 11400 South, South Jordan.

Both juveniles were ultimately transported to Primary Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The vehicle, a black GMC Yukon, was being driven by a 44-year-old female who has fully cooperated with investigators.

The crash team does not suspect impairment was a factor in this accident, at this time.
