Mayor's Corner: Celebrating our Independence

Mayor's Corner Dawn R. Ramsey

We hope you enjoyed our SoJo Summerfest! It was wonderful to come together for our parade and fireworks, carnival and concerts, races, car show, chalk art, super heroes, vendors, food trucks, dunk team, golf events, and so much more.

Now just like that, July is here, and it’s time to celebrate all things red, white, and blue! Let’s honor the history and spirit of our nation by coming together to enjoy the best of what our amazing city has to offer.

There are endless opportunities for summer fun right here, close to home. Gather your friends, family, and loved ones and embrace the spirit of our community as we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy. Whether you visit one of our many parks, our Gale Center Museum of History and Culture, Mulligans for a round of golf or mini-golf, participate in our race series, walk or bike the Jordan River Trail, enjoy an outdoor concert, visit our Veterans Memorial or our Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, attend a musical, watch an outdoor movie, play pickleball, cheer on your favorite team at Daybreak’s Dragon Boat Festival, or visit a splash pad, including the brand new one we just opened at Heritage Park, we hope you stay safe and make memories to last a lifetime. We are excited to have more summer fun coming soon, including the Bees Ballpark that will open in Daybreak in 2025.

Let’s make July a month to remember! Laugh, love, have a BBQ, hydrate, remember your sunscreen, follow the fireworks safety guidelines and maps, protect your pets, watch out for kids on bikes, and safely enjoy all of the wonderful things our city has to offer. I am grateful to get to share this season with each of you as we celebrate our independence. Happy July everyone!
