FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SOUTH JORDAN, UT – May, 2, 2023 — South Jordan City is excited to announce its Art on the Towne event, taking place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1600 W. Towne Center Drive. The event will include an opportunity for residents to provide feedback on the City's Arts Master Plan, which will help shape the future of art in the community.

The Art on the Towne event is free and open to all ages. Attendees will enjoy a morning filled with art, music, live demonstrations, and hand-crafted goods. There will be plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, including an art market, live music, balloon artist, face painting, caricature artist, and the South Jordan Quilt Show.

"We are thrilled to host the Art on the Towne event and to give our residents the chance to have their voices heard on our Arts Master Plan," said Mayor Dawn Ramsey. "South Jordan is committed to providing a vibrant and inclusive arts community, and we believe that the feedback we receive at this event will be invaluable in shaping our future plans."

The Arts Master Plan will determine what the future of art will look like in the City of South Jordan. The City is eager to hear from its residents on what types of art they would like to see in their community, how to make art more accessible, and what resources and programs would be most beneficial.

"We encourage all residents to join us for this exciting event and to take part in shaping the future of arts and culture in our city," said Recreation Director Janell Payne. "This is an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the importance of art and creativity in our daily lives."
