SOUTH JORDAN, UT – May 30, 2023 – Tonight kicks off South Jordan’s premier annual event – SoJo Summerfest, with our Parade Preview and Kite Festival. SoJo Summerfest features events, food, shows, and free activities for all ages through Saturday, June 3.
“We’re excited to add the Parade Preview and Kite Festival this year in Highland Park on our west side of town,” said Janell Payne, recreation director. “Our city is growing fast, so we want to engage every resident with this awesome event and encourage them to join us in our long-time parade tradition Saturday at 9 a.m.”
The SoJo Summerfest lineup begins with the Parade Preview and Kite Festival on May 30, which gives residents a sneak peek at South Jordan’s float before the parade on Saturday, plus there are food trucks, beautiful handmade kites that will be flying, a visit from Mary Poppins, and summer craft activities. Then on May 31, Mulligans Golf & Games offers free activities for Mulligans Bash. On June 1, there is family night at the Carnival at South Jordan City Park, where all rides are just one ticket. Friday adds unique free events like the Butterfly Encounter, the SoJo Music Festival, and stunts by extreme pogo and BMX performers.
The SoJo Music Festival is bringing in four amazing bands, providing music Friday and Saturday nights. Two bands, Dallas Murrae and Who’s Bad – The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience, will rock the stage Friday at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday night, Trash Panda, a spectacular drum group, starts at 6:30 p.m. and is followed by the legendary 80s synth-pop band Men Without Hats. The event culminates Saturday night with a fireworks show at 10 p.m.
