South Jordan Receives JustServe Global Cities Award

JustServe Global Cities Award

We are proud to announce that South Jordan was recently awarded one of the inaugural JustServe Global Cities Awards presented to 6 US cities, recognizing communities that use the JustServe platform in significant ways that make a difference in their community. JustServe is an application that connects volunteers with the organizations that need them. The award was presented by Heath Bradley, Global Director of JustServe, and Mayor Victoria Woodards of Tacoma, WA, President of the National League of Cities, at their 2023 annual conference.

Recipients included:

  • Houston TX
  • Los Angeles CA
  • Chandler AZ
  • Franklin TN
  • Louisville KY
  • South Jordan UT

Mayor Dawn Ramsey was honored to speak at the event and receive the award on behalf of the City.

"In commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 attacks, the National Day of Service brought together the City of South Jordan and JustServe in a remarkable partnership. Despite the relentless rain, our resilient community saw nearly 1000 volunteers come together to clean the Bingham Creek dry creek bed, tidy the Jordan River Trail, and clear leaves and debris from numerous storm drains across the City," said Mayor Ramsey. "JustServe played a pivotal role in coordinating these projects, collaborating with diverse faith and community groups to mobilize a multitude of volunteers. Even in the less-than-glamorous conditions, especially with the rain, the remarkable turnout was a testament to the exceptional individuals in our community. The day was a heartwarming display of unity and remembrance as we served side by side. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to JustServe for their invaluable partnership in making this event such a resounding success."
