MEDIA ADVISORY:

South Jordan Opens New Fire Station, Police Substation, “Mini City Hall”

Amid skyrocketing growth in the Southwest Salt Lake Valley, South Jordan opens Station 64 – a new fire station, police substation, and city hall annex on Mountain View Corridor.

The City of South Jordan will be hosting a ribbon cutting event and tours of Fire Station 64, located in Daybreak at 5443 W Lake Avenue. The South Jordan fire and police chiefs, Mayor Dawn Ramsey, city council members, and City Manager Gary Whatcott will be in attendance.

“Having this station on the west side of town will help improve response times for police and fire and will allow residents to have City services closer to home,” Fire Chief Chris Dawson said.

The new 30,000 square-foot building features a full fire station, a police substation, a space for community meetings, and City administration space, including utility billing service. Fire services began operations this week.

“This mini city hall and public safety building will help serve the rapidly growing west side of South Jordan,” South Jordan Public Information Officer Rachael Van Cleave said.

Starting September 1, 2021, residents on the west side of the City will no longer have to go all the way to City Hall to talk with someone in person about dog licensing, utility billing, and other questions. Inperson hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.
