Bingham Creek Regional Park

Bingham Creek Regional Park will be owned and operated through a partnership between South Jordan City and Salt Lake County, similar to Sugarhouse Park. Overtime, the former Welby Pit will transform into a generational park for residents in the area to visit and enjoy for decades to come. Park construction of Phase 1 will continue through Fall 2022. Phase 1 funding, approximately $16 million, for the park comes from two primary sources: 1) Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts, and Parks (ZAP) program in the amount of $13.2 million and 2) South Jordan City contributions in the amount of $3 million. Phase 1 park improvements should include, depending on budget: mass-grading of the entire site, essential infrastructure (ie. culinary water, secondary irrigation, sewer and internal roads), parking lots, maintenance facility, restrooms, multi-purpose sport fields, a destination playground, other playgrounds, disc golf course, and biking and other multi-use trails. Future phases should include: a destination splash pad, tennis courts, pickleball courts, additional multi-purpose sport fields-including a championship field, bike skills course, volleyball courts, basketball courts, open lawn space, and additional trails. Bingham Creek Regional Park will be the largest park in Salt Lake County when it is complete and will be a unique generational gathering place, a recreational area, and trail hub in our community. So, over the next couple years, watch this area transform into a beautiful regional park where the community may come and spend quality leisure and recreation time together.
