2022 South Jordan Art Show

Submissions for the 2022 South Jordan Art Show are now being accepted. Register today and drop your art off on March 14th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Gale Center.

  • Art is for everyone! Join us March 21st through April 28th for the 14th Annual South Jordan Art Show. The Gale Center (10300 S. Beckstead Lane) will house incredible artwork from talented artists from our very own South Jordan and surrounding community. Both adult and youth residents are welcome to submit pieces. Residents of South Jordan will be given preference, but others may submit. We will let you know if there is room for your piece or not. The show is free and open to the public during the Gale Center’s hours of operation. Awards will be given to winning artists at the Artists Reception on Monday, March 21, at 6:30 PM.     • Artists must be South Jordan residents.
    • Each artist can submit up to 2 pieces of original artwork, those pieces should be no older than three years old and not shown previously in the South Jordan Art Show.
    • The Categories include: Traditional Mediums (Drawing, Watercolor, Oil, and Digital), Photography, 3D (Sculpture, Ceramic, and Pottery). 3D category for Adults and Professionals only.
    • Any hanging art must be securely wired to hang.
    • Participant’s name, address, phone number, and email must be provided on the back of all photo entries.
    • All artists must sign an Artwork Loan Agreement before their artwork will be accepted.
    • Artwork will be displayed at the Gale Center through the entire duration of the show.

    Pieces can be dropped off at the Gale Center (10300 S. Beckstead Lane, South Jordan, UT) March 14 from 2 pm to 6 pm.

    Age Groups: Child (6 years – 9 years), Youth (10 years – 13 years), Teen (14 years – 17 years), Adult (18+), Professional (Artists that have ever been paid for their work)

    10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
    Friday
    10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Closed Saturday, Sunday & Monday

    This group is for non-professional level ages 6-17 artists in any of the following categories. All entries must be completely original with no derivatives of copyrighted materials.

SOUTH JORDAN ARTS COUNCIL

The South Jordan Arts Council consists of residents appointed by the South Jordan City Council. This council provides support and assistance in the implementation of Arts programs and events to create a life-long appreciation for the arts for the residents of the City of South Jordan. They strive to achieve their mission by providing opportunities for individuals and families to experience the Arts through education, participation, public works of art, and performance. ARTIST ON DISPLAY

In a rotating spotlight, artists from around the valley are on display for several weeks at the Gale Center and City Hall. Features include medias as oil, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, and photography.  If you would like to be featured as an Artist on Display in 2021, please email sojoarts@sjc.utah.gov.

JORDAN RIVER TRAIL WALL MURAL

The South Jordan Arts Council is seeking examples of past original artwork/design idea(s) for rotating murals on the Jordan River Trail under the 106 bridge. Artists and artwork will be selected and approved in advance for this project under the sole discretion of the Arts Council. All non-sanctioned artwork will be considered “graffiti” and will be removed. Click on “Jordan River Trail Wall Mural” above to find out more information or to submit a design.

ROUND IT UP PROGRAM

South Jordan Utility Customers can elect to have their Utility Bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and the increment will be donated towards funding the Arts in South Jordan City. Your involvement in the Arts benefits everyone in the community. The Round It Up program puts your change to work helping to fund the different programs and events in our community.
