Michele L. Hollist has been a member of the South Jordan Planning Commission since May 2019. She also serves as a member of the Jordan Ridge Elementary School Community Council, and has been the Education Commissioner for the school's PTA for three years. She and her husband, Tim, have been residents of South Jordan for 16 years. They are the parents of four children. Michele graduated from the University of Utah, where she majored in Chemical Engineering and minored in Chemistry. After completing internships for the Dow Chemical Company in Midland, MI, Carrollton, KY and Freeport, TX, she began work as a Chemical Engineering Analyst in the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Technologies group at Ceramtec, Inc. in Salt Lake City. Her work there led to 11 U.S. patents, several international patents, and publications in peer-reviewed technical journals. Michele currently works for OxEon Energy in North Salt Lake where her latest project is helping design and develop an application for using Lunar water to produce Oxygen and Hydrogen propellants for NASA.
