Now that the holidays have come and gone, we tend to spend more time inside our homes while the weather is cold. This results in criminals having more opportunities to prowl in our neighborhoods. This is a great time to start (or restart) a Neighborhood Watch program to help keep our neighborhoods safe.

Neighborhood Watch is a group of people living in the same area who want to make their neighborhood safer by working together with the help of local law enforcement to reduce crime and improve their quality of life. Neighborhood Watch empowers citizens and communities to become active in emergency preparedness, as well as the fight against crime and community disasters.

If you would like to start, restart, or join a Neighborhood Watch group, contact our Crime Prevention Unit by either emailing COP@sjc.utah.gov or calling 801-254-4708.
