Rules and Regulations
Definitions – A quilt is two layers of fabric with a filling that is stitched together with lines or a pattern. Quilting may be done by hand or by machine. Tied quilts, “raggy” quilts or quilts made from predominantly preprinted panels will not be accepted. Textiles are a type of material composed of natural or synthetic fibers. Types of textiles include material such as wool, silk, yarn, linen, cotton, polyester, and rayon. Wearable and Miscellaneous items include but are not limited to shawls, stuffed animals, tablecloths, pillows, hats, etc.
The quilt show is open to amateur quilters across the Salt Lake Valley. All work must be the quilter’s original work.
A $5 entry fee will be charged per person (not per entry). Limit of 4 entries per person. Fee is due with quilt drop off. Each quilt will need a separate registration.
Quilt drop off and pick up:
Quilts may be dropped off on Thursday, September 20, 2018 and Friday, September 21, 2018, at the Gale Center of History and Culture at 10300 S. Beckstead Lane, during the hours of 10:00am – 4:00pm. Quilts must be picked up by Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
The quilt show is outside and each exhibitor must sign a Release Agreement by the entrant. Any underage exhibitor must have an adult 18 years or older sign for them. These forms must be signed at drop off.
Insurance is the responsibility of the quilter/owner. In the unlikely event that a quilt is damaged or lost, South Jordan City, or the South Jordan Arts Council will not be held responsible.
