2020 Gingerbread House Contest @ South Jordan City Hall
Nov 30 @ 9:00 am – Dec 10 @ 6:00 pm

Test your baking and decorating skills in South Jordan’s annual amateur Gingerbread House Contest! Gingerbread House submissions are due on Monday, November 30 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at South Jordan City Hall. The Gingerbread Houses will be on display in City Hall from December 1 – December 10. We can’t wait to see what you bake up!

City Hall Hours of Operation:
Monday-Thursday – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Friday – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Closed- Saturday and Sunday

2020 Gingerbread House Contest Entry Form

  • Rules

    1. Entries must be totally edible. All candy must be unwrapped, no lollipop sticks, and no perishable foods may be used.
    2. Entries must be original, no gingerbread house kits allowed.
    3. Entries must be freestanding and securely attached to a plywood base.
    4. Only battery-operated lighting can be used.
    5. Entries will remain on display at City Hall through December 10. 
    6. Entries must be dropped off at City Hall on Monday, November 30 between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
    7. Entries must be picked up on December 11  or they will be discarded.
    I understand that to be eligible for the competition; I must agree to the following as indicated by my signature below:
    1. I must deliver my completed entry to City Hall on Monday, November 30, 2020 between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
    2. I must follow all of the Rules and Procedures set forth by the City of South Jordan.
    3. My entry will remain on display in City Hall through December 10, 2020.
    4. Permission is hereby granted to the City of South Jordan, to print or otherwise duplicate the picture or likeness of my entry and/or myself, with my entry, for either internal or external release, this includes print and online publications, plus local and network television. I understand that the image of my entry becomes the property of the City of South Jordan.
    5. By participating, each competitor agrees to be bound by all of the Rules and Procedures herein, which may be amended from time to time. The City of South Jordan reserves the right to refuse entries that are deemed inappropriate for display, to disqualify any competitor who fails to follow the Rules and Procedures contained herein and/or to disqualify any competitor who falsifies any information which is submitted on this entry form.
    6. I agree to HOLD HARMLESS, RELEASE, DEFEND, AND INDEMNIFY, the City of South Jordan, their respective agents, employees, representatives, assignees, officers, directors, members, partners, volunteers and shareholders (each a "RELEASED PARTY") for ANY AND ALL LIABILITY and/or claims arising from injury to persons or damage to property arising from the incident, any RELEASED PARTY'S alleged or actual NEGLIGENCE OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF any express or implied WARRANTY, breach of contract, or breach of any statutory or other duty of care, or mistakes or errors in judgment of any kind. By signing this release, I Agree that I am releasing any right to make a claim or file a lawsuit against the City of South Jordan.

SOUTH JORDAN ARTS COUNCIL

The South Jordan Arts Council consist of residents appointed by the South Jordan City Council. This council provides support and assistance in the implementation of Arts programs and events to create a life-long appreciation for the arts for the residents of the City of South Jordan. They strive to achieve their mission by providing opportunities for individuals and families to experience the Arts through education, participation, public works of art, and performance. Artist on Display

In a rotating spotlight, artists from around the valley are on display for several weeks at the Gale Center and City Hall. Features include medias as oil, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, and photography.  If you would like to be featured as an Artist on Display in 2021, please email sojoarts@sjc.utah.gov.

ROUND IT UP PROGRAM

South Jordan Utility Customers can elect to have their Utility Bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and the increment will be donated towards funding the Arts in South Jordan City. Your involvement in the Arts benefits everyone in the community. The Round It Up program puts your change to work helping to fund the different programs and events in our community.
