Art Class with Nancy is a monthly, creativity-based, four class, art course for boys and girls ages 2nd-6th grade. Each month focuses on a new project. For more information please visit www.artclasswithnancy.com

MARCH CLASSES: Pokemon Art – March 3, 10, 17, 24

Students will vote on and draw/paint two of the three Pokemon art images posted on the art class website homepage. Please see www.artclasswithnancy.com for details. Class Schedule: Day 1: Draw, Day 2: Paint, Day 3: Draw, Day 4: Paint **There are no makeup classes so students must attend all classes to keep up with the schedule**

Important: To ensure safety during COVID parents are asked to supply their child with – a set of Colored pencils, a set of Colored Markers, and an 8 count Water Color Paint Set. The instructor will provide – Hand Sanitizer, Cleaning Supplies, Water Bowls, Paper Towels, Paint Brushes, and Instruction. TUITION REDUCED to $40.00 to compensate.

New COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. If your child is sick, please keep them home. A full refund will be issued without question. Follow proper hygiene guidelines – soap or hand sanitizer will be provided in the classroom. Parents must stay in the car and students are required to wear a mask during the entire class. Students will have their own desk that is spaced 6ft from other students.

Group Guitar Lessons @ Gale Center Museum

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the guitar? This 8-week group course is created for beginners ages 15 years old and up. Only 10 slots available, register at register.sjc.utah.gov

** COVID-19 Guidelines: Masks and Social Distancing are required**

Date: Every Tuesday, March 9, 16, 23, 30 & April 6, 13, 20, 27

Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Location: Gale Center Auditorium (10300 S. Beckstead Lane, South Jordan, Utah 84095)

Total Cost: $150 (8 classes/$18.75 per class)

Instructor: Jacob Lambros

Required Supplies: Guitar, strap, picks, and a tuner.

SOUTH JORDAN ARTS COUNCIL

The South Jordan Arts Council consists of residents appointed by the South Jordan City Council. This council provides support and assistance in the implementation of Arts programs and events to create a life-long appreciation for the arts for the residents of the City of South Jordan. They strive to achieve their mission by providing opportunities for individuals and families to experience the Arts through education, participation, public works of art, and performance. ARTIST ON DISPLAY

In a rotating spotlight, artists from around the valley are on display for several weeks at the Gale Center and City Hall. Features include medias as oil, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, and photography.  If you would like to be featured as an Artist on Display in 2021, please email sojoarts@sjc.utah.gov.

CALL FOR ARTIST

Trail Wall Mural Program: A rotating mural program in partnership with the Utah Department of Transportation. The South Jordan Arts Council is seeking submissions for rotating murals on the Jordan River Trail under the 106 bridge.

  • Artists and artwork will be selected for this project under the sole discretion of the Arts Council.
  • Amateur artists are encouraged to submit artwork.
  • Selected artists will be given a stipend for materials.
  • A maximum of two submissions will be accepted.
  • Artwork will rotate at the discretion of the Arts Council.
  • 1, 2, or 3-panels of the wall will be assigned depending on the size of the art.
    • 1 panel = 22 in by 104 in
    • 2 panels = 44 in by 104 in
    • 3 panels = 66 in by 104 in

This project will take place in the Spring of 2021.

South Jordan Student Utility Box Artwork: The South Jordan Arts Council is looking for student artists to create one-of-a-kind paintings that are bright, bold, colorful, and lively! Selected artwork will be displayed on utility boxes outside of schools in South Jordan.

ROUND IT UP PROGRAM

South Jordan Utility Customers can elect to have their Utility Bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and the increment will be donated towards funding the Arts in South Jordan City. Your involvement in the Arts benefits everyone in the community. The Round It Up program puts your change to work helping to fund the different programs and events in our community.
