SOUTH JORDAN ARTS COUNCIL

The South Jordan Arts Council consists of residents appointed by the South Jordan City Council. This council provides support and assistance in the implementation of Arts programs and events to create a life-long appreciation for the arts for the residents of the City of South Jordan. They strive to achieve their mission by providing opportunities for individuals and families to experience the Arts through education, participation, public works of art, and performance. ARTIST ON DISPLAY

In a rotating spotlight, artists from around the valley are on display for several weeks at the Gale Center and City Hall. Features include medias as oil, charcoal, acrylic, pen and ink, watercolor, and photography.  If you would like to be featured as an Artist on Display in 2021, please email sojoarts@sjc.utah.gov.

CALL FOR ARTIST

South Jordan Student Utility Box Artwork: The South Jordan Arts Council is looking for student artists to create a one-of-a-kind painting of the provided theme. Selected artwork will be displayed on utility boxes outside of schools in South Jordan.

  • Deadline: February 10, 2021
  • Submit Artwork: To sojoarts@sjc.utah.gov, include your name, school, and grade.

Trail Wall Rotating Murals: A rotating mural program in partnership with the Utah Department of Transportation. The South Jordan Arts Council is seeking submissions for a rotating mural along the South Jordan River Trail. Multiple artists will be selected for this project. Amateur artists are encouraged to submit artwork. Selected artists will be given a stipend for materials. This project will take place in the Spring of 2021. Submissions are due March 10, 2021. Community Theater Production – Director Call: The South Jordan Arts Council is seeking an experienced community theatre Director to fill a paid contract position. If you are interested in this opportunity please fill out the form here!

ROUND IT UP PROGRAM

South Jordan Utility Customers can elect to have their Utility Bill rounded up to the nearest dollar and the increment will be donated towards funding the Arts in South Jordan City. Your involvement in the Arts benefits everyone in the community. The Round It Up program puts your change to work helping to fund the different programs and events in our community.
