Art is for everyone! Join us September 18-28 for the 11th Annual South Jordan Art Show. The Gale Center will house incredible artwork from talented artists from our very own South Jordan community. Both adults and youth residents are welcome to submit pieces! The show is free and open to the public during the Gale Center’s hours of operation. Awards will be given to winning artists at the Artist Reception on Monday, September 17 at 6:30 pm!
If you are interested in displaying your artwork in the show or have any questions, please contact Haley Greene at sojoarts@sjc.utah.gov. Artists must be South Jordan residents. Each artist can submit up to 2 pieces of artwork, those pieces should be no older than three years old and not shown previously in the South Jordan Art Show. The Categories include: Traditional Mediums (Drawing, Watercolor, Oil, and Digital), Photography, 3D (Sculpture, Ceramic, and Pottery). Any hanging art must be wired to hang. All artists must sign an Artwork Loan Agreement before their artwork will be accepted. Artwork will be displayed at the Gale Center through the entire duration of the show. Pieces can be dropped off at the Gale Center (10300 S. Beckstead Lane, South Jordan, UT) September 13 from 12 pm-5:30 pm and September 14 from 9 am to 12 pm.
Age Groups: Child (6 years – 9 years), Youth (10 years – 13 years), Teen (14 years – 17 years), Adult (18+)

Join South Jordan Arts Council for their annual Quilt & Textile Show! The show will be in conjunction with the South Jordan Farmers Market on Saturday, September 29th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM! The show is free and open to the public! Be sure to stop by the voting table and vote for your favorite quilt and textile for the People’s Choice Award!
Limit of 4 entries per person. Each quilt will need a separate registration.
Categories Include: Large Quilt Pieced, Small Quilt Pieced, Large Quilt Applique, Small Quilt Applique, Hand Quilted, Wearables and Miscellaneous, Youth(under 18 years old), and Group Quilt/Quilted by Paid Service.
Registration and drop off: September 20-21, 2018 at the Gale Center (10300 S. Beckstead Lane).

Make room in your life for your desire to write. This class is designed to build a community of writers, provide instruction of writing concepts, and inspire participants to write through use of prompts and dedicated writing time. Open to all writing genres and experience levels.

Test your baking and decorating skills in South Jordan’s annual Gingerbread House Contest! Gingerbread House submissions are due on Monday, November 26 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Gale Center of History and Culture. The Gingerbread Houses will be on display in the Gale Center Auditorium from November 27 – December 6 for People’s Choice Award voting.
We can’t wait to see what you bake up!
