Important Information for Contractors Working Near Trees
If your project involves work near city-owned trees, such as park strip trees, that may be impacted by activities like asphalt overlays or water line installations, please be aware of the following requirements:
- Municipal Code Compliance: All work must adhere to municipal code 12.24 Tree Stewardship, which is designed to protect and preserve our urban forest.
- Standards and Guidelines: Any tree-related work must comply with ANSI A300 standards. View the ANSI A300 Pruning Standards.
- Certified Arborist Requirement: Tree-related work must be performed by a certified arborist or a tree care company. Contractors are responsible for hiring these professionals and must provide the city with their contact information.
- Notification: Contractors must notify Kevin Ball, Urban Forester, of the scope of work involving adjacent trees prior to beginning the project.
